Nichole Rocha, Policy Advisor
Nichole Rocha brings with her extensive knowledge of the legislative process and technology policy. Nichole also serves as the Principal at Rocha Public Affairs, and previously, as the Head of 5Rights US, Nichole helped secure the unanimous passage of the Age Appropriate Design Code in two states. Prior to that, she served as Chief Consultant to the California Assembly Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee and as Counsel to the California Senate Judiciary Committee. Nichole received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkeley and her Juris Doctor from UC Davis.
Nichole is a trusted expert in technology policy and has testified before numerous state legislatures, on national and international child safety panels, and has consulted with foreign governments regarding policies designed to protect children online. In 2023, Nichole was appointed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom to the Children’s Data Protection Working Group and has provided interviews as a technical expert for local and national media.
When not thinking about how to make the internet a better place, Nichole is wrangling her own children and dogs and loves to engage in fiber arts when time permits. Nichole is a California native and resident.
