Feb. 7 is Safer Internet Day, when people all over the world will pause to think and talk about how to make the internet a safer and better place for their families, communities, workplaces and schools

Research shows most teens don’t engage in sexting. And most of those who do experience no negative consequences.

If you’re using a computer with a very old operating system or even a recent version that’s in need of an update, you’re taking an unnecessary risk. The same goes for internet browsers and, for that matter, all your PC software and mobile apps.

This has been a busy year for ConnectSafely.

Educators throughout the United States are invited to create their own Safer Internet Day program for use in their community during the second week of February. Safer Internet Day is February 7, but your program can run any day that week.
