We are in a rare moment in time when parents and teens are looking to one another for advice on how to use new technology: generative AI. According to the Family Online Safety Institute’s most recent research, teens were asked, “Who knows more about AI?” They responded:

  • 45% of teens said their parents know more
  • 22% of teens said parents have similar knowledge as they do
  • 32% of teens said teens know more

Since our teens are open to the idea that they can learn from US about artificial intelligence, let’s seize the opportunity. Here are some introductory resources about AI from the folks at Code.org to review to help you have a conversation with them about the risks and benefits.
