Location Sharing Instructions and Precautions

Apple Find My (iPhone Only)

✅ To Share or Stop Sharing Your Location:

Make sure Location Services is turned on by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, then toggling Location Services to ON. Scroll down to the Find My app in the list and ensure it’s set to “While Using the App” or “Always” for accurate location sharing.

Then:

1. Open the Find My app

2. Tap “People” at the bottom

3. Tap the + button

4. Click Share My Location

5. Enter the name, email, or phone number of the person you want to share with (they must have an Apple ID)

6. Tap Send

7. Choose how long to share your location:

   1. One Hour

   2. Until End of Day

   3. Indefinitely

To Stop Sharing Your Location in Apple Find My

1. 1. Open Find My App
   2. Select People at bottom
   3. Click on the person’s name
   4. Click Stop Sharing Locaton

🗺️ Google Maps (iPhone or Android)

✅ To Share Your Location:

1. Open Google Maps

2. Tap your profile picture or initials (top right)

3. Tap Location sharing

4. Tap “New Share”

5. Choose:

   • How long to share

   • Who to share with (select from contacts or generate a link)

6. Tap Share

🛠 If prompted, give Google Maps permission to access your location “Always” for continuous sharing.

To Stop Sharing in Google Maps:

1. Go to Location sharing

2. Tap the person’s name

3. Tap Stop
