Chances are you have a lot of apps on your phone, and there’s a good chance that there are some you’re not using or maybe not even aware of. So, in addition to being careful before downloading new apps, now may be a good time to review the apps you have and delete the ones you never use. Privacy and security issues aside, unnecessary apps waste storage space and can slow down your phone and impact battery life. Ask these questions about the information each app collects:

  1. Is the information needed for the app to function, or is it being sold to advertisers?
  2. Does it need my location in order to perform (such as in navigation) or can I block that to maintain more privacy?
  3. Have I read recent reviews for the app to keep tabs on whether other users are satisfied? Should I look for other apps that perform the same function better?
